How We Store Your Data

When you use InnerTally's affirmation counter, your data stays where it belongs — on your device.

We use IndexedDB, a local database built into modern web browsers, to save your affirmation text, count progress, and goal settings directly in your browser. The counter does not upload that practice data to InnerTally or Tally.

Here's what that means in practice:

  • No account needed. You can start counting → right away without signing up, creating a profile, or entering an email address.
  • Data persists across sessions. Close your browser, restart your computer, come back next week — your practices will still be there when you return to innertally.com.
  • You own your data. Because the information lives on your device, it's yours to manage, delete, or keep as you see fit. We can't see it, and neither can anyone else.

What Data We Collect (and Don't)

We believe in collecting the absolute minimum. If you're wondering "is affirmation counter safe?" — here's the full breakdown of what stays on your device and what never gets collected in the first place.

What we store (locally, on your device only):

  • The affirmation text you type in
  • Your current count for each practice
  • Any goals or targets you set
  • The visual theme you select (currently "Energy")

What the counter does not require or collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Any behavioral tracking or analytics data

Optional survey exception: If you choose to submit the product survey, your answers and any email address you voluntarily provide are sent to Tally and stored separately from your counter practices. Do not paste affirmation text or other sensitive information into the survey.

We also don't use cookies to track your activity. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No heatmaps. No session recordings. The current MVP is intentionally lightweight — it does one thing well (counts your affirmations) and respects your privacy while doing it.

If we ever introduce analytics in a future version, we'll update this policy here before making any changes. You'll know about it first.

Your Rights and Controls

You have full control over your data at all times. Because everything is stored locally, here's how you manage it:

  • Delete a single practice. Open the app, find the practice you want to remove, and delete it. It's gone immediately — no server request, no loading screen, no waiting.
  • Clear everything. Want a completely fresh start? Clearing your browser's site data for innertally.com removes all your saved affirmations and counts in one step. Most browsers let you do this from Settings > Privacy > Site Data.
  • No cloud backup or export service. The current product stores practices in the browser and does not sync them across devices. Keep any important record elsewhere.

There is no InnerTally server holding your counter practice data. For questions about a survey response, contact us at the address below and describe the response without sharing sensitive information.

Third-Party Services

As of the current MVP, InnerTally uses no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The optional Survey page embeds a form provided by Tally.

Here's what's actually behind the scenes:

  • Hosting: The site is served from a static file server / CDN. No dynamic backend processes your information. The pages load and run entirely in your browser.
  • Fonts: Page text uses browser/system fonts, and the local share-card PNG uses a bundled Nunito font file. No Google Fonts or third-party font services load external resources.
  • Analytics: None. No scripts watch what you click, how long you stay, or where you go next.
  • Product survey: The Survey page loads Tally's form and embed script. When you submit the form, Tally processes the answers on our behalf. Tally describes the form creator as the data controller and Tally as the data processor. See Tally's GDPR information and Privacy Policy.

This page describes the current product. It does not announce future features or release dates.
